6th District Commander’s June 2025 report

Greetings from the Big 6th District.
Here we are at the time of year where we are trying to wrap up the Legion year. Our joint 6th District leadership testimonial was recently held at St. Augusta Post 621.
I can’t thank the leadership and staff of Post 621 enough. We had a wonderful meal, and everyone was welcomed with open arms. And we had some good-natured fun while we celebrated our year.
A special thank you goes out to my fellow 6th District leadership members: Auxiliary President Dori Hamilton, SAL Commander Bob Foss, and AL Riders Liaison Jason Pierce.
What a privilege it has been to serve the BIG 6th District with all of you. We should all be proud of the work we have done this past year.
I’m looking forward to seeing many of you at our BIG 6th District convention on June 7 in Brainerd. The Legion and SAL will be meeting at the Post 255 home while the Auxiliary will meet at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church. Every post, unit, squadron should be sending representation to this convention, as well as the Department Convention in Willmar on July 10-12.
Only by showing up at these events do you have a voice in the direction we are taking. These events are where we do our most important business and elect our leadership for the coming year. So, if you don’t attend, then you shouldn’t complain later when things aren’t going the way you think they should.
Last, but surely not least, I’d like to say thank you for all the warm welcomes I have received this past year. Travelling around our Big 6th District, and visiting the Posts, has been one of the highlights of my year as Commander. Many of you have probably heard that I am running for re-election, and that is true. However, I wanted to let you know what an honor I feel it has been to represent you.
Until next time, stay safe, and Be the One because Together We Can do wonderful things.
