6th District commander’s July 2024 report

By Anthony Koop

Greetings and salutations from the Big 6th!

Good news, everyone! We are sitting at 98.77 percent for membership!

That is 4.29 percent higher than last year at this time!

The Legion Family Testimonial was very fun with President Patti Gunderson and SAL Commander Bob Foss. It was very nice that we could all get together and be a part of each other’s celebration.

Meeting people from the other parts of the American Legion Family was the best part. The 6th District Convention was held at Brainerd Post 255 on June 1.

I want to congratulate Mr. Frank Grittner as our new district commander. He has done an outstanding job this past year as the South sub-vice commander and has held the role of district chaplain as well. He will make the Big 6th proud.

Congrats as well to all of the elected and appointed officers. Your job is to assist our commander and all of the 6th District, and I know you will do well. As my year comes to a close, I want you all to know how much I appreciate all of your hard work and dedication.

With your help, we have had a great year and will continue to strive for even greater success.  Let us all welcome Commander Grittner and give him our full support as he leads us through the next wonderful year!

I hope to see you in Willmar and New Orleans at department and national conventions!
