6th District Commander’s December 2024 Report
Greetings from the BIG 6th District.
So now we are in the heart of the holiday season. Veterans Day and membership celebrations are behind us. Hunters are all in from the woods, and we are all stuffed like Thanksgiving turkeys. I hope everyone had a wonderful, safe autumn filled with blessings and success.
In my travels around the district, I’m proud to see all the good work and kindness being done in our communities. Make sure we are blowing our own horn and letting people know what a vital part our posts are playing.
We enjoyed a great turnout at the Pearl Harbor Rally at Spicer Post 545. Through a lot of hard work and dedication, as of the last report, the 6th District is in first place for membership. This is due to the work we are putting in TOGETHER! It truly amazes me what we can accomplish by working TOGETHER! Keep pushing, especially those that haven’t paid up for 2024 yet.
Next up, after the beginning of the year we have the 6th District Mid-Winter Conference on Jan. 18 at Melrose Post 101. Please register early. I hope to see many of you there, at least one from each post would be fantastic. Many times, these events have a 20% participation rate, meaning only 20 percent of the posts actually show up. Remember the best way to be heard is if you participate.
Please send out good thoughts and prayers to those that are struggling. Better yet, reach out to those you haven’t seen in a while, or to those that you know may be struggling. You never know when a phone call, or a friendly visit, saves a life. This time of year is statistically one of the hardest for people to get through. Let’s make sure we are all doing everything we can to BE THE ONE.
Until next time, from my wife, Wendy, and I and the entire Grittner family to all our American Legion Family, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year filled with all of life’s best. Remember to BE THE ONE!
