3rd District Commander’s Report

Veterans, Auxiliary and Sons of The American Legion, we are coming into a season where temperatures are dropping. The leaves are falling from the trees. The world seems a little darker.

This time of year can be lonely for many. That means buddy checks are extra important.

So reach out to your fellow comrades and their families, whether it be by text, email, a phone call or just stop by and say hi. We are family as part of The American Legion. We are a family of veterans.

Keep in mind that for many, they may not have any blood relatives left or in the area. For them, you are their one family. You are their connection to this world and the human connection that makes them feel remembered, loved and cared about. You are the one.

If you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to reach out to me or any of our 3rd District leadership; we are here for you. My theme this year is helping veterans connect and part of that is making sure all veterans have at least one person they can reach out too.
