2nd District Commander’s June 2025 report

I look forward to seeing all of you at the district convention hosted by Post 6 in Pipestone! Every post should be sending delegates to the district convention to elect new officers and handle the business of the 2nd District. Registration forms were mailed to all of the post adjutants and the form is in the district newsletter. No matter how large or small your post is, we all have a voice. If you don’t show up, you can’t complain about what happens at the convention.

As a district, we are only about 300 Legionnaires away from hitting our 100 percent goal. Looking back from 2021 to present we have over 450 Legionnaires who have not renewed. There are around 7,000 veterans who live in the 2nd District who don’t belong to the American Legion yet. We must get outside of the four walls of our posts and get those veterans to join us as Legionnaires!

My time as the 2nd District commander is coming to an end soon. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as commander, and I would like to thank the Legionnaires of the 2nd District for having the confidence in me to serve all of you for two terms. Let’s finish out strong!
