2nd District commander’s August 2024 report

Greetings, 2nd District!

The 2025 membership year is underway and dues are rolling in! We had a huge turnout for the membership packet pickups in the district. Of 81 posts, 72 showed up at the meetings. There were a couple meetings that had more posts represented than what we get at the previous district convention!

We are working on getting meetings set up around the district regarding veterans benefits and other topics of interest that were suggested by the Legionnaires at the membership packet pick up meetings. The district is working with the CVSOs and MDVA to present information at these meetings. You asked for it. We’re getting it done!

On another note, the 2nd District is off the Goose Egg with 100 percent of the posts submitting Consolidated Post Reports and Officer Reports. A huge thank you goes out to every post in the district for getting this done!

Delegates from the 2nd District will be attending the National Convention in New Orleans at the end of August. We will each be coming back with a full report in the September edition of the 2nd District newsletter.
