Four runs in the bottom of the first inning helped Hopkins take the lead. Jay Mound, Reid Oertli and Abu Kalokoh shared pitching duties for Hopkins. Leading the Flyers with two hits each were second baseman Joe Schaefer, center fielder Ethan Sawatzky and designated hitter Lincoln Heath.

WINNING PITCHER RYLEE HARRIS, LOSING PITCHER LINCOLN RICK

East Grand Forks scored two late runs on a double by Brody Anderson in an exciting 8-6 win over the host team from St. Michael Thursday afternoon at Lower Rec Field in St. Michael. Anderson’s double in the top of the sixth inning eluded the St. Michael ‘s diving right fielder Rylee Haas got the win on the mound, lasting most of the way before reaching 109 pitches. Jake Stassen finished with the save. Levi Anderson helped East Grand Forks with two hits.  Brody  Anderson’s big day included four RBIs on two doubles and a single. Gavin Baker supplied three hits for St. Michael.

WINNING PITCHER JACK GOLDSBERRY, LOSING PITCHER NATE EDELMAN

Tommy Heifort led Fridley Gold with two hits in a 3-1 victory over Tri-City Red Thursday afternoon at St. Michael-Albertville High School. The Tri-city Red starter Nate Edelman allowed only four hits in 6 2/3 innings. Jack Goldsberry pitched 6 1/3 innings of five-hit ball to claim the win for Fridley Gold. Carter Byers had two hits for Tri-City Red.

WINNING PITCHER BRODIE GILBART, LOSING PITCHER JACK MCHUGO

Farmington jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning against Osseo Saturday at St. Michael-Albertville High School. The Tigers added six more runs in third on the way to a 10-0 victory. Grady Renwick went three for three to lad Farmington. Brodie Gilbart got the win on the mound, allowing one hit in 3 2/3 innings. Farmington had 12 hits.

WINNING PITCHER SHANE KETTLER, LOSING PITCHER CINCENT MURN

Four Shakopee pitchers combined to shut out Sauk Rapids 9-0 in the first round of State Tournament play Thursday afternoon. Shane Kettler got the win while Reid Anderson, Nick Johnson and Brodie Sullivan each had a turn on the mound. Johnson, Logan Krosch and Ryder Peace each had two hits for Shakopee.

WINNING PITCHER SAM DICK, LOSING PITCHER HAYDEN WELSCH

In a game that featured 25 hits, neither team played well in the field as Grand Rapids edged Hutchinson 13-12 in the first round at St. Michael Lowe Field. Caleb Gunderson led the hit parade for Grand Rapids with three hits. Sam  Dick of Grand Rapids hit a triple and supplied three RBIs. Hudson Lien had three hits for Hutchinson.

WINNING PITCHER COLIN ANDERSON, LOSING PITCHER DREW GILLESPIE

New Ulm Gold is back in state and off to a good start with a win over Hastings. A good pitchers’ duel went into the eighth inning. New Ulm Gold scored two in the top of the eighth then held Hastings scoreless. Ethan Thompson had the only RBI for New Ulm Gold. Tyson Werner had the lone RBI for Hastings.

WINNING PITCHER SAM ANDERSON, LOSING PITCHER ROMAN LACHENMAYER

 

Both pitchers threw complete games Thursday in the last game of the day. Sam Anderson’s three-hitter for Alexandria was good for a win over Roman Lachenmayer of White Bear. With the win, Anderson’s season record improved to 6-0. Connor Anderson and Nolan Johnson had the RBIs for Alexandria. Tyler Allshouse had the RBI for White Bear.
