Greetings to all of the men, women and children of the Minnesota American Legion Family. I would like to first extend a sincere thanks for being elected as your incoming commander for the Mighty 10th District. I’m a proud Air Force veteran, serving six years of active duty and 14 years in the Minnesota Air National Guard.

I’m very excited to be working with some of the finest people in the American Legion. Paul Orson will serve as my adjutant. He has already proven to be a wealth of knowledge. Kristy Janigo has agreed to come on board as our eager and capable membership director. Past Department Commander Darrel Redepenning is serving as judge advocate. We are definitely thankful to have his wisdom and knowledge.

Cliff Newman will be sergeant-at-arms. Butch Dixon is serving as chaplain, and Bruce Kottom is continuing as our finance officer. As our vice commanders, we have Duane Lindquist from Hopkins Post 320, Roger Bilderback from Fridley Post 303, Connie Herzog from Buffalo Post 270, Greg Hartman from Osseo Post 172, and Darrel Jensen from Bruno Post 563.

I think I’ve exceeded my space limit, so I’ll be signing off. Feel free to contact me about visiting your posts (preferably on the motorcycle). You can reach me at mtberen@yahoo.com. Have a great summer!
