10th District Commander’s March-April 2025 Report

There’s a lot going on in the Mighty 10th District in March!
The 10th District Commander’s Trophy Competition is back this year and will be at Bill’s Gun Shop in Robbinsdale, at noon March 15. Golden Valley Post 523 Commander Craig Hartman and Past 10th District Commander Matt Berens are already trash talking about who will win this year’s competition.
Both are amazing shots, so let’s see who comes out on top!
We have a VA S.A.V.E. training March 19 at the Wayzata Post 118. Come at 5:30 p.m. for socializing and light appetizers, and we will get started with the training at 6 p.m.
Check out our Facebook invite, https://www.facebook.com/share/167GLfnp5o/ for the link to RSVP, or just email me directly at [email protected].
It is expected to last 90 minutes. We are supporting the national “Be the One” mission by training our members how to react to a suicidal crisis.
The 10th District American Legion Family Chili Cook-Off will be March 23 at the Hopkins Post 320 from noon to 3 p.m. The entry fee for competitors is $10, and it will be $15 for members of the public for tasting. This event is open to all members and guests!
Our American Legion Department of Minnesota has wrapped another successful Washington Conference trip. Thank you to everyone who traveled with me to D.C. I want to give a shout out to Past National Sergeant-at-Arms Tom Schottenbauer for traveling with me three years in a row!
In service.
