By Matthew Berens

Greetings, Legion Family, from the Mighty Tenth District. 2024 is upon us, and it promises to be as exciting as ever.

It seems every Legion post I’ve attended since becoming commander has been filled with great people and engaging events. Beanbag tosses, meat raffles, bingo, bands and karaoke. There’s always something going on at the Legion!

I’m excited to announce our Mid-Winter Conference is happening at Anoka Post 102 at 9 a.m. Jan. 13. If you’ve never attended a district function, this is one you won’t want to miss. A day of fun learning and camaraderie.

We’re also excited to announce a first-ever Commander’s Cup Pistol Competition to be held at Anoka Post 102 on Saturday, Feb. 24, at noon. Everyone in the Legion Family who can legally shoot is welcome. Bring your ammo and shootin’ iron and see how you rate.

That’s all I’ve got for the unseasonably warm first month of 2024. Wishing everyone a happy and safe new year. Get out to the posts, enjoy those events, and bring in those new members.

They’re out there!
